Experience of Field visit in Kopila Nepal


                                              
                                                          
              
 I visit the Kopila Nepal in kaski, Pokhara.  Kopila Nepal is a non –profit, non- sectarian, non- government and making social organization which is established in 2000 but it is registered in 2001.  It is established by 9 people. The headquarter is in kaski, pokhara but works in 9 district. In the kopila Nepal there are total 29 staffs. In the Kopila Nepal we met the Tirtha Bahadhur Thapa(founder), Puspa Gurung(Supervisor), Navraj Dhakal (finance) and chyamata khadka (documentation officer).  Chyamata khadka shared with us, how it work, what is the aim of organization. They provide save home to the victims. There are two types of safe home. They are long term safe home: In the long term home they stayed for 14- 65 year old women. Transitional safe home: in this safe house they might be stayed 3-6 month but there were stayed 2 years if they have not identified, and their mental health problem is not so good.

Currently they have a 9 project works. Kopila Nepal victim referred through the government, District police office and court. First responsibility of victim is taken by their own guardian, then government and they referred to the Kopila Nepal. In the organization there was psycho therapist for the mental problems people. The organization helps 300 people per year. It focuses on women mental health problems. Kopila Nepal works with poor and marginalized women who are widows, abandoned, abused or victims of rape. It helps to built the women capacity by giving different types of training. The goal of organization is to empower women of the Nepal to become strong and independent businesswomen. 
                   

                    

Kopila Nepal work for the marginalized people in the society and they are fight for their fundamental rights and also working with marginalized women and children through developing and mobilizing their skill development training, education, psychosocial counseling, mental-health treatment, re-habitation and social re-integration and advocacy for rights. Kopila Nepal works with family, community members, school teachers, and policy maker to delivery their programmers.

Kopila Nepal collaborates with different human right organization in gandaki province. There are different projects in kopila Nepal works for child right. Kopila Nepal provides different training like agricultural, animal husbandry, irrigating coffee, tailor, handicraft etc to the marginalized women. It helps to women to build the capacity. Kopila Nepal is to improve quality of life of women, children and people with psycho social problem by building their own capacity and maximizing local resources.
